Celluma (LED) Light Therapy
Low-level-light therapy or photobiomodulation is based on Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and is the application of light energy to the body for therapeutic benefits. It promotes a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. The energy delivered by the LEDs has been shown to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and replenishment of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen — the foundation of healthy, smooth skin. Research has shown that LED light therapy may help smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increase lymphatic system activity, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and superficial hyperpigmentation. The treatment is for all skin types, and is non-ablative, non-invasive, painless, and requires absolutely no downtime. You may return to their normal activity immediately after the treatment.
SERIES 6 Treatment Sessions: $180 ($30 per session) includes removal of makeup, deep cleanse, 30 minutes under the Celluma Device, finish with appropriate serum and moiturizer. Total treatment time each treament is about 45 minutes. Extractions are not done with this series. This series yields the best results if 2 treatments per week for 3 weeks or 1 treatment per week for 6 weeks is done.
Individual 45 Minute Treatment: $45 includes removal of makeup, deep cleanse, 30 minutes under the Celluma Device, finish with appropriate serum and moiturizer. Extractions are not done with this treatment.
ADD ON to any Facial: $20 adds about 20-30 minutes to the length of your service.
Frequently Asked Questions About LED Light Therapy
What is Light Therapy?
Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to improve cellular performance. Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone and wrinkles, texture and clarity, ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm and arthritis and kill acne bacteria, and much more.
How Does Light Energy work?
Specific wavelengths of light energy, when properly absorbed, up-regulates compromised cells. The light (photons) energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components.
What is Celluma?
Celluma is unique and quite unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Based on NASA research, Celluma delivers blue, red and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to safely treat a wide variety of conditions. Each wavelength is absorbed by different molecules that act as a signaling mechanism for different cellular processes. For example, some reduce inflammation and some kill bacteria, while others enhance localized circulation.
How safe is Light Therapy?
Low-level-light therapy is based on light emitting diode (LED) technology developed for NASA-manned space flight experiments. In comparison to lasers, the patented LED technology generates negligible amounts of heat and is not considered a significant risk device.
Does Light Therapy utilize UV light?
No. Celluma utilizes a combination of blue, red, and near-infrared (not visible to the naked eye) light emitting diodes (LEDs) only.
Why does my skin need to be clean prior to a treatment?
Many makeup formulas contain minerals that may deflect light. Clean, freshly washed skin is recommended for best results. You do not want anything on the skin that may deflect the light away.
